Utilities and Energy

The Utilities and Energy Policy Area encompasses a range of topics including: production, transmission; use of natural gas, coal, wind, nuclear, and solar power; utility regulation; utility- and energy-related consumer and environmental protection; and telecommunications, including telephone, mobile phone, cable, and broadband. Some key issues in this policy area are renewable energy standards, net metering, energy efficiency, the Kansas Universal Service Fund, 9-1-1 capabilities, and underground storage tanks.
